Since 1950, Sports Boosters of Maryland has been working to make a difference in the lives of area youth through supporting athletic organizations and programs.

Over the course of our history, we have raised thousands of life-changing dollars for youth sports organizations. From purchasing a young girl’s first soccer uniform so she can start her first game to funding the scoreboard that encourages a young high school football team to pursue excellence on and off the field, our work impacts far more than the students and teams we help stay in the game.

In 1950, a group of young business people from the Baltimore area wanted to use their love of sports, along with their vision of the values that sports provides, to help make a difference in children’s lives and the collective future of Baltimore. It was then that the Sports Boosters of Maryland was officially launched by Mr. Michael Fox, and has run uninterrupted since then with the help of many like-minded men and women, who volunteer their time and make their contributions annually.

Our Mission

Sports Boosters of Maryland is a 501(c)3 organization committed to promoting the advancement and enjoyment of amateur as well as professional sports for youths and adults alike, while providing related educational and charitable services.

As a 501c3 organization, Sports Boosters of Maryland has raised thousands and thousands of dollars to promote this vision and the intrinsic values of sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, discipline and character development. For over 65 years the money raised has provided initial and continuing funding to assist local organizations with the purchase of uniforms, equipment, scoreboards, fields, field prop and numerous other athletic needs.

Hear from Grant Recipients

Thank you so much for your generous grant for Pirchei Baseball Games. You and the Sports boosters of Maryland made it possible to buy new equipment for the 430 boys who play in our weekly baseball league. Each week, boys ages 4-14 come together to play these games, and entire families came to cheer on the boys. Our volunteer coaches help them improve on their skills, and a good time is had by all. “

Jason Simanowitz PBG Commissioner, Agudath Israel of Baltimore
